I have been a resident of the Lansing area for over 50 years and with my wife of 37 years have raised 3 children, 2 of whom still reside here and another now in Chicago. I have watched the Lansing area grow into the larger metro area that it now is with Okemos, Haslett, Bath, Dewitt, Grand Ledge, Charlotte, Eaton Rapids, Holt and Mason forming a ring around the city and have seen the many neighborhoods being developed. I use this knowledge along with my experience as a Realtor to assist sellers and buyers with one of the largest financial transactions of their lives in order to bring them peace of mind.
Working with sellers I like to get a family history of the home, getting to know what they liked about the home when they purchased it and how that idea may have changed once they lived in the home. We go over improvements and repairs made in order to enhance the features the house has to offer.
I than go over the steps necessary to insure we get the maximum price we can for the home so the owners can be sure they are getting the greatest financial benefit possible from the sale. This includes pulling comparable homes from the neighborhood that the home is located in. Of these the solds will be setting the price with the homes that are for sale and active being competition.
We then go over the process of listing the home for sale, paperwork, disclosures and tips for making the home showing ready. This also includes the showing process itself and with 13 years of experience showing homes I have many ideas of how a home should look when a buyer is taking a look for their potential new home
Working with buyers I begin by going over the steps necessary to purchase a home including the pre-approval from a lender so that we know the price range you will be comfortable looking in, the search for a home, the making of an offer and possible counter offer, the inspection process, along with the appraisal. With the range of areas the area has to offer this can be a challenge and this is where my local experience comes in, I know the entire region very well and share that knowledge with buyers.
I feel that purchasing a home is buying into the community along with being a large financial proposition and because of this I believe my local experience living and working here is a great benefit to both buyers and sellers.
